Rockfall Netting Description
Rockfall Netting is made of a continuous roll of "triple twisted" mesh which can be made in different mesh and wire combinations to suit the type of rock being supported. unlike chainlink mesh, the strong "triple twisted" mesh will not unravel if one of the mesh wires should break. individual rolls are wired together to form a curtain to control the fall of loose rock and to encourage stabilization of the rock face by promoting vegetation.
Rockfall Netting is proven to offer robust, long-lasting, and cost-effective rockfall protection. On moderately steep slopes or those where some vegetation may grow, the mesh should be kept as close to the slope as possible. On very steep and/or near-vertical slopes, the net must be anchored at the top of the cliff, and left unanchored at the bottom, thereby allowing rocks and debris to fall into a collection ditch at the toe of the slope
Rockfall protection nets are used to guard against falling rocks. They’re specifically designed to stabilize slopes and stop rocks or debris from tumbling down onto roads, infrastructure, or nearby communities. Think of them as a safety barrier that catches and controls falling rocks, helping reduce the risk of damage and keeping people and property safe in areas prone to rockfall hazards.

Rockfall protection is necessary when there’s a risk that falling rocks could:
Cause injury to people
Damage infrastructure, buildings, or other valuable assets
Disturb or destroy important natural habitats
Disrupt traffic flow or block roadways
Compromise the structural integrity of surrounding infrastructure
Rockfall Netting Applications
Falling rock protection is essential wherever rockfalls could pose a threat to people, property, or infrastructure. If you're in an area where rockfall is a real possibility, using wire mesh rockfall protection can be a smart and effective solution. Common applications include:
Nature trails and parks: Outdoor recreational areas near cliffs, rocky slopes, or exposed rock formations often need rockfall barriers to keep visitors safe.
Construction sites: Sites where excavation, demolition, or heavy machinery is involved can be prone to falling debris and loose rocks. Even after demolition, wire mesh can act as a protective barrier, reducing the risk of accidents around the perimeter.
Roads and highways: Mountain roads and scenic routes are especially vulnerable to rockslides and landslides. Rockfall protection helps prevent debris from falling onto roadways, ensuring the safety of both drivers and pedestrians.
Hilly or mountainous areas: Any buildings or infrastructure located near cliffs or steep rock faces benefit from added protection against rockfalls, helping safeguard both the structures and the people nearby.
Rockfall Netting Advantages
● Does not unravel if wire breakage occurs making it cost effective with low maintenance requirements
● Flexible and versatile to match existing slope and rock profiles
● Different levels of coating protection for durability in a wide range of environments
● Does not inhibit regrowth of vegetation
● No overlapping mesh on lateral connections means fast installation and minimal material wastage
