Reinforced Geocomposite Mattress

This is a reinforced 3D geomat (similar to MacMat® type), a composite structure of 3D polymeric mat and hexagonal steel wire mesh, used for erosion control and slope stabilization

Reinforced Geocomposite Mattress

Reinforced Geocomposite Mattress is a three-dimensional reinforced geocomposite mattress (alternative to MACMAT), mainly composed of polypropylene (PP) three-dimensional geomat and twisted hexagonal steel wire mesh (or high-strength polymer geogrid), specially used for slope erosion control, soil and water conservation, and vegetation restoration.

1. Structure (Two-Layer Composite)

1.1 Surface Three-Dimensional Geomat

Material: UV-resistant PP monofilament, thermally bonded, with porosity > 90%.

Structure: Flexible, fluffy, three-dimensional open structure, suitable for soil filling and plant rooting.

1.2 Internal Reinforcement Layer

Mainstream: Twisted hexagonal steel wire mesh (mild steel / galvanized / Galfan coated / PVC coated), complying with EN 10223-3.

Alternative: High-strength polymer geogrid for corrosion-resistant environments.

Function: Provides high tensile strength and significantly improves the overall stability of slopes.

2. Core Functions & Principles

Initial erosion control: The geomat directly resists rain erosion and runoff impact to prevent topsoil loss.

Soil fixation & grass planting: The pores are filled with nutrient soil; plant roots penetrate the geomat and reinforcement layer to form an integrated "mesh–soil–root" system for long-term slope stabilization.

Reinforcement & stability: Steel wire mesh / geogrid restricts soil deformation and disperses stress, suitable for high-risk scenarios such as steep slopes (≥45°), high-velocity channels, and subgrade slopes.

Main Applications

Subgrade slope protection for highways and railways.

Lining and bank erosion control of rivers and channels.

Municipal landscape slopes and ecological restoration.

Mine greening and waste dump stabilization.

Coastal embankment and tidal zone protection.

Configuration Characteristic

4. Key Advantages (vs. MACMAT)

Higher strength: Tensile strength increased by 5–10 times after reinforcement, with strong anti-slip and anti-landslide performance.

Eco-friendly: High opening rate without blocking vegetation, natural greening after construction, no "hard protection" trace.

 Durable & anti-aging: UV-resistant and corrosion-resistant PP material, design service life ≥ 50 years.

Easy construction: Rolled laying, convenient fixing with anchor nails and overlapping, short construction period and low cost.

5. Common Specifications (For Reference)

 Geomat thickness: 10 / 12 / 15 mm.

Steel wire mesh size: 60×80 mm, 80×100 mm; wire diameter: 2.0–2.7 mm.

 Roll length: 25 / 50 m; width: 2.0 m.
