Turf Reinforcement Matting

ZhenLEM®-Turf Reinforcement Matting is a permanent, 3D synthetic matrix used to stabilize soil and reinforce vegetation against heavy erosion. Unlike temporary degradable erosion blankets,ZhenLEM®-Turf Reinforcement Matting provide a lasting structural framework that locks in roots, making them highly effective for steep slopes, channels, and shorelines.

How Turf Reinforcement Matting Work?

Turf Reinforcement Matting are engineered to hold seeds and soil securely while allowing vegetation to grow through the mat's open structure.

Composite Matrix: As the grass or plants grow, their roots intertwine with the synthetic fibers of the mat.

Increased Shear Stress: This natural-synthetic root system can withstand much higher water velocities and soil stress than unreinforced vegetation.

UV Resistance: They are built to resist chemical, biological, and UV breakdown, creating a permanent layer of erosion protection.

Once vegetation establishes, plant roots interweave with the fiber matrix to form an integrated system, capable of withstanding high flow velocities (up to 4 m/s and above). This makes them several times more effective at resisting erosion than natural turf alone.
